Gavin Teo

Gavin is a General Partner at Altara Ventures. He is a seasoned investor, entrepreneur, and business manager, and currently sits on multiple Altara portfolio boards, including Staffinc, Clevai, Med247, Saturdays, Kyan, and Klinik Pintar, where he provides strategic and business guidance. He also serves as a Guest Lecturer at the National University of Singapore.

Most recently, Gavin was a General Partner at B Capital Group, where he led the firm’s investment committee for its inaugural growth fund, launched and managed the San Francisco office, and invested in companies across Southeast Asia and the United States. At B Capital, he focused on consumer, healthcare, and transportation investments, serving on the boards of AImotive (acquired by Stellantis), Atomwise, Bright.md (acquired by Cigna Evernorth), CareDox, CXA, Fishbrain, and SilverCloud (acquired by Amwell). He also co-managed the firm’s investments in Evidation Health, Myia, and Notable Labs. Earlier in his investing career, Gavin led digital media, healthcare, and frontier technology investments at Comcast Ventures.

Before his investing career, Gavin managed products at Zynga, where he was part of the core FarmVille team through the company’s US$1 billion IPO. He began his career as a consultant at Bain & Company.

Gavin earned his MBA from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, graduating as a Palmer Scholar (top 5% of his class), and received his undergraduate degree from Claremont McKenna College, graduating magna cum laude.
