Kiat Wang Seow

Kiat Wang is a General Partner at Altara Ventures. He is a seasoned investor, entrepreneur, and business manager, and currently sits on multiple boards, providing strategic and business guidance to companies. He is also actively involved in mentoring small business owners as part of community development work.

Kiat Wang began his career in 1984 at Hewlett-Packard and joined Micropolis Corporation in 1989. Within a span of seven years, he gained extensive operational experience and held various management positions, where he was responsible for product quality and quality system enhancements. In 1991, he co-founded Omni Electronics and was instrumental in driving its operational excellence. Omni Electronics was listed in 1997 as part of Omni Industries, where he served as Operational Director. The group grew to a revenue size of about US$1 billion in 2001 before Omni Industries was acquired by Celestica Inc.

Since 2006, Kiat Wang has managed private equity funds providing growth-stage capital to SMEs in the manufacturing, information and communications technology (ICT), services, logistics, and consumer sectors in Southeast Asia. In these roles, he has added value in strategic planning, regional and global expansion, improving operational efficiencies, and sourcing key operational resources.

Kiat Wang received his Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical) with First Class Honours from the National University of Singapore in 1984, and his Master of Engineering from the same university in 1988.
